The United States is the world’s leader in blockchain-related jobs, according to a research by The NextWeb (TNW) published on March 8.
As per a report published by TheNextWeb, United States stands as a global leader in blockchain-related jobs. For the report, TNW collaborated with Glassdoor, a job and recruiting site, to find all job offerings which had the term “ Blockchain” in nations round the globe.
As per the report, US spearheads the employment arena in terms of blockchain-related jobs. It has 2616 jobs, out of a total of 5,711 blockchain jobs listed on Glassdoor globally. U.K is a close second with 1,015 blockchain-related jobs. Whereas, India stands at the third place with a total of 257 vacancies.
Furthermore, among the jobs listed, Blockchain engineer takes the lead. The second and third positions are taken up by “ Senior Software Engineer” and Blockchain developer respectively.
Also, in a list of companies offering blockchain-related vacancies, tech giant IBM offers the largest number of blockchain jobs. Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young Oracle stood second and third respectively.
As a matter of fact, in the top 10 companies, only three were related to digital currencies. These companies include Foris Limited, Crypto.com, and Wirex. Payment startup Ripple occupies the 17th position and blockchain software tech company ConsenSys is placed at the 13th position.
In February, recruitment company Hired’s findings reported that the global demand for blockchain engineers is up by staggering 517% in over two years.
The second-fastest growing software engineering role is that of a security engineer, marking a 132 percent growth. At the third place stands the demand for an embedded engineer, up by 76 percent. The blockchain engineer role has consistently been cited as the top-three most-paid software engineering jobs.
In early February, experts and industry players said that the adoption of blockchain technology is still nascent stages at the annual meeting of The Wall Street Journal CIO Network. Per Christine Moy, executive director and head of the blockchain center of excellence at JPMorgan Chase, enterprise blockchain technology though has found its practical use case, the applications are not large scale, and are still to get the required attention.
