Tron [TRX] CEO and founder Justin Sun revealed that he expects the Tron ecosystem will “officially collaborate” with Ethereum (ETH) this year. Justin Sun made the statement on April 6 during an interview on The Crypto Chick podcast Rachel Wolfson.
When Rachel Wolfson asked him to comment on the recent tweets of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin about Tron, Sun shared that he believes “competition brings a better product.” Also he noted that he thinks that within this year crypto-space will see Tron collaborate, officially with the second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum.”
“I think in the future we will even collaborate with lots of Ethereum developers and also the enterprises built on Ethereum before to make the industry better,” Justin Sun further added.
Sun also revealed Tron’s Q2 plans; Tron is developing a second layer scalability solution for Tron. According to Sun, he believes this would increase transaction throughput at least 100 times and significantly decrease fees. The second layer will be deployed in Q2 2019.
Sun also highlighted that in the Q2 phase of this year, Tron will launch a “new network with a privacy option,” that will be based on the technology used by altcoin Zcash [ZEC].
On April 9, Tron is set to launch the Tron-based version of stablecoin Tether [USDT], Sun noted during the podcast. According to Justin Sun, Tron based version of the stalwart stablecoin will facilitate cheaper and faster transactions than the Bitcoin [BTC] -based Omni protocol USDT.
Sun highlighted, stablecoins are not dependent on market fluctuations unlike other cryptocurrencies. Stablecoins are gaining importance as most of the traders and investors like to protect their assets from market fluctuations.
“I think in the crypto ecosystem, the stable coin is the most important thing when we come to define the entire infrastructure of the whole industry,” he added.
Sun further explained that currently, USDT shared the same blockchain as Bitcoin. The transaction rates are higher and are restricted to only 300K per day. According to Sun these problems will be resolved once the USDT-Tron stablecoin.
Sun had recently shared about the solution dubbed as Sun Network on his official Twitter handle. But he withheld from revealing an exact launch date.
